#1: Buddha-Raja

A small and tidy little store tucked away near the corner of Swanston and La Trobe Streets.

This place has a lot to offer, with an emphasis on handcrafted goods such as prayer wheels, bells and many other items made from Japanese Cedarwood.

Even if you’re not looking to buy anything, visit this place to marvel at some of the intricately carved Buddhas and other decorative pieces located inside the store or along its windowsills.

#2: Buddha Groove  

A relatively new store, having only been established in 2011, this boutique has a strong emphasis on unique and rare items such as delicate crystal figurines and handmade carpets from Nepal (perfect as a decoration or as meditation tools).

#3: The Buddhist Centre

Located at Queen Victoria Market, this is one of the oldest Buddhist focal points in Melbourne. It’s a traditional Chinese Buddhist Temple where you can find many items such as prayer beads and incense sticks to purchase while also enjoying the atmosphere of an ancient temple.

#4: Buddhistshop.com.au  

This website is relatively new but has a good selection of products such as Buddha statues and other decorative items to fill up your home with Buddhist culture or to give away as gifts to your Buddhist friends.

#5: Celestial Arts 

Another place to purchase Buddhist items online, this store has a good selection of decorative pieces such as Buddha statues and prayer wheels but also smaller things like incense sticks and soapstone carvings.

It’s run by the Melbourne Meditation Centre so if you’re visiting them for meditation classes it might be worth stopping by here beforehand to pick up some gifts or things for yourself!

#6: The Buddhist Bookshop   

Like Celestial Arts, this is yet another online store where you can purchase a good variety of prayer beads, incense sticks and other Buddha statues and decorative items to fill up your home with some Japanese culture.

Their website also has images of most products so you can see exactly what it is that you’re buying before purchasing, which may be handy if there’s something in particular that you’re looking for.

#7: Buddha Land  

This is a large store located at Queen Victoria Market which focuses on Oriental and Buddhist statues and items such as wall hangings, carpets and tea sets. The statues that they stock here are handmade from wood or plastic so if you’re looking for something unique this may be a good place to visit!

#8: Buddhanet Australia 

A website that has a good range of religious and decorative items such as statues, prayer beads and wall hangings.

#9: Buddha Statues Australia   

A website that sells handmade Buddha statues from Nepal as well as Tibetan Buddhists items such as wall hangings and tea sets.

It’s quite a small operation compared to some of the bigger stores but they have a different selection of products which may be worth checking out if you’re looking for something different!

#10: Dhammawheel

This is a website that has some of the most unique Buddha statues that I’ve seen, ranging from handmade to factory-made ones, this site seems like it’s got something for everyone!

They also offer free shipping within Australia on all orders over AUD 50. If you’re looking for Buddhist items online then this would be my number one recommended place to check out first.

#11: Monastery Store  

This is a good place to check out if you’re looking for prayer beads, wall hangings and incense sticks amongst other things. They also have some unique items such as handmade silk pillows with Buddhist designs on them which may be appealing to the more fashion-conscious Buddhists out there!

They do offer international shipping but it can take up to 3 weeks for orders from here to arrive due to the time it takes to make their products.
