How Is Spray Foam Insulation Owosso Made?

When it comes to insulating homes, there are several different options available. Fiberglass batt insulation, for example, is a popular choice that can provide high R-Values and a great overall energy performance. However, United Spray Foam LLC insulation is a much more effective and efficient option. It not only provides better R-Values than fiberglass batt insulation, it also creates an air seal that stops heat from escaping your home in the winter and cool air from leaking out in the summer. This is a big difference that will help you save money all year long.

How Is Spray Foam Insulation Owosso Made?

Unlike fiberglass or cellulose insulation, which is made of either wood pulp or recycled paper, spray foam insulation is actually created from two chemicals that are mixed together and sprayed into your attic, crawl space or rim joist. These chemicals, known as isocyanate and polyol resin (the “A” and “B” sides of the chemical), are kept in separate tanks or hoppers. They are then fed through a hose to where they are to be applied, typically an attic or a crawl space. When the chemicals meet in the nozzle they instantly react and are sprayed into place.

Once applied, the spray foam immediately begins to expand and harden, filling every nook and cranny to provide an effective air barrier and a good R-Value for your home. We use a closed-cell foam called HEATLOK SOY, which is an environmentally friendly and non-toxic product that offers excellent energy efficiency with the added benefit of creating an air barrier.
